March 6


Math- In Math this week we finished our multiplication unit !  Division starts next
week when we start 3.2 Jump Math.


 English- Our novel study this month is No Ordinary Day by Deborah Ellis. It is a story from India. That brings up the importance of education and literacy. 
We are also enjoying some Folktales from India.




Social- We are learning about India’s communities as well as global citizenship
and organizations such as: Rights of a Child, how the Red Cross began,
Free the children, Unicef, Doctors without borders, and 
World Wildlife Fund. 

Science- We have been exploring our new topic of Rocks and Minerals.
We are investigating where they are found around the world. We are excited
for our Rocks and minerals in school program by Teacher’s PET on March 10.
We also have a parent volunteer that is going to offer a session about
Rocks and Minerals in April.

March 7- Spring forward one hour!
March 9- Scholastic orders due
March 10- Teacher’s PET Rocks and minerals
March 12 - Parent Council Night
March 13- Dress Like Your Teacher Day
March 19- Last day of classes before Spring Break, 
early dismissal at 1:30pm
March 19- Parent Teacher Interviews 2:30-4:30, and 5:30-8pm
March 20- Parent Teacher Interviews 9-12:30pm No classes

March 30- Classes Resume
