Updates and work ideas for the break

March 19, 2020

Dear 3C Families,

I hope you all have a restful and healthy Spring Break.
I miss teaching the children so much, but health is number 1.

All learning materials and non critical items like shoes etc will be
held at the school until after break.

Watch for an email on school website for a plan after March break.

Please read the Covid-19 virus information on the CBE website
at www.cbe.ab.ca
Keep posted on this public health crisis and when and if
classes will resume.

Crime Not to Read has been cancelled until further notice.

I have sent some work home early for Spring
break. Jump Math 3.1 - your child may work on
finishing pages they have not completed, as well as
units we did not need to cover for our curriculum. We also
sent a Spring Break bingo challenge and a home
reading sheet for home reading. Students who have a Raz Kids
account may use it at home as well as Tumble books
and book flicks.  www.tumblebooklibrary.com

Kiddle is a good search engine for
reading information about Rocks and Minerals. We have
currently been studying about Tunisia and India. Your child
may use Kiddle to learn more as there are videos as well.
Students may also complete any work in their
Google Drive such as documents or slide shows. They may
create more slideshows such as one on a rock or mineral,
India or Tunisia. Share at broreilly@educbe.ca

Math: prodigy, sumdog, abcya, and jump math book, and
scratch.

Mrs. Kruger our librarian says: Many authors and
publishers have granted access to their work for a
limited time to help keep students reading.

Here are a couple of authors that have already granted permission:
Peter Reynolds
                             Chris Grabenstein
                             Mo Willems
                             Dan Gutman
                             Oliver Jeffers
                             Karma Wilson
                             BJ Novak
                             Todd Parr
                             RJ Palaccio
                             Peter Brown

Thank you,
Brennan
